Curve: Sasha - Button Factory

- Curve presents Sasha - Saturday 16th December - Button factory - Tickets available from Ticketmaster here: - Doors 11pm - ROAR - Over 18s The best DJs know that Djing is first about being able to read people and then about being able to tap into that human experience and take it on a journey. Sasha has always been noted for being a master at this, If there are boundaries yet to be broken, then you can bet that Sasha has got them in the crosshairs. He's been battering them down since Shelley's, The Hacienda, Renaissance and Twilo; from Airdrawndagger to Invol3r. Since 2011, he's carved a new way with his increasingly pivotal Last Night On Earth imprint, the label that has introduced into its family fiercely forward-thinking producers like My Favourite Robot's James Teej, Simon Baker, ThermalBear, Ejeca, Ghosting Season, Max Cooper and Knox. Then there was the arrival of the long-awaited third album in his 'Involver' series in 2013, the intricate and challenging 'Involv3r'. It combined on one disc Sasha's peerless command of dance floor sensibilities and on the other his skilful exploration of beatless soundscapes, featuring his exclusive interpretations of tracks from The xx, Blondes, Little Dragon, Benjamin Damage, Foals and ThermalBear. It also featured 'Shoot You Down', his own spine-chilling anthem with vocals from the beguiling Swedish chanteuse Kicki Halmos.

Disney Xmas Club : Aladdin

A highly entertaining entry in Disney's renaissance era," Aladdin is beautifully drawn, with near-classic songs and a cast of scene-stealing characters. Robin Williams's dizzying and hilarious voicing of the Genie is the main attraction of Aladdin, the third in the series of modern Disney animated movies that began with 1989's The Little Mermaid and heralded a new age for the genre. After a sultan (Douglas Seale) gives his daughter, Jasmine (Linda Larkin), three days to find a husband, she escapes the palace and encounters the street-savvy urchin Aladdin (Scott Weinger), who charms his way into her heart. While the sultan's Vizier, Jafar (Jonathan Freeman), weaves a spell so that he may marry Jasmine and become sultan himself, Aladdin discovers the Genie's lamp in a cave, rubs it, and sets the mystical entity free, leading the Genie to pledge his undying loyalty to the dazzled youth. Aladdin begins his quest to defeat Jafar and win the hand of the princess, with the Genie's help. Monsters, Disney's trademark talking animals, and a flying carpet all figure into the ensuing adventures, but Williams' Genie, who can change into anything or anybody, steals the show as he launches into one crazed monologue after another, impersonating figures from Ed Sullivan to Elvis Presley. Our December prices are €10 per adult + booking fee €7.50 per child under 16 + booking fee Family of 4 ( 2 Adult 2 children or 1 Adult 3 children ) €30 + booking fee All our Disney Xmas Series will have table service Our cinema matine menue will consist of artisan pizzas made to order juices, soft drinks, gourmet popcorn, confectionary on sale group bookings, special requests and any Diseny related queries pls email or call the venue on 01 678 7188 + we will be serving alcohol for parents nad guardians if requested.

Commercial Rowing Club Dublin

Chapelizod Road

Dublin 8

Christmas Skank

We have tracked down a special place for our last session of the year. The Commercial Rowing Club is a great space with wooden dancefloor, full bar and a lovely smoking terrace with great moonlit views of the Liffey and leafy Memorial Park on the far bank. Best of all we can run 'til 4 in the morning! It's on Chapelizod Road between Phoenix Park and the River, just a little bit upstream of Islandbridge. It'll be the full Firehouse crew at the controls. We'll be bringing the sound system so you know it's going to be a proper thing. On the mic we'll have our long time singjay Lariman riding high on the back of his recent recordings on TNT and other labels. Can't wait to hear his TNT scorcher Kase JeJe on the sound again. We also have a special treat in store with Eva Keyes, a special singer with her own style. She'll be promoting her great new tune 'Tired of the City'. If you haven't heard it yet, check it out on Echobus Records. Tickets in advance. €10 and soon available online on Eventbrite and in person from Spindizzy Record Shop. Loads of bus routes (25/26, 66/66A/66B and 67) stop right outside the place (at stop number 2193) and there's a big car park if you're driving.

OTHERKIN & guests Saturday 16th December 8pm. €14/12 Consequence Of Sound: "Despite its title, “Bad Advice” certainly feels like a good time. It’s a hook-filled thrasher that blends the attitude of The Clash with the peppier pop-leaning moments of earlier The Libertines." Clash Magazine: 'Matching feral grunge riffs to uproarious, hugely infectious songwriting, new single 'Ay Ay' is nothing less than a total banger. The sound of a young band truly coming into their own.' NME Magazine: 'OTHERKIN play natty Britpop. Debut single 'AY AY' is more 1996 sounding than an overdriven VOX AC30 and Epiphone Rivera combo, calling to mind early Oasis. If their live show is half as rowdy they'll blaze a helter-skelter trail on the toilet circuit." The Independent: "Basically they're just a big mass of energy - four guys who write hugely infectious tracks with rough, snarling vocals and grunge riffs." Fred Perry Subculture: "Otherkin are a four-piece punky new-wave pop band from Dublin, who manage to channel all the raucous spirit and energy from the last twenty years' worth of British guitar bands." This Feeling: "'Huge riffs, huge choruses, huge live, huge songs. Already all over the likes of Radio 1, Radio X and MTV Rocks. There is zero doubt 2016 is gonna be massive for these boys." Gigslutz: "Their monster tune ‘Ay Ay’ is today’s This Feeling Track Of The Day, but also not to be missed is their even bigger EP The 201 featuring the freshest tunes from what could be the most exciting new band of the year." Artrocker: 'A must see band who bring optimistic rock back to the clubs'

Their unique arrangement of instruments includes the bodhrán, djembe, rhythmic guitar and banjo sets them apart as a truly original offering of Irish Music. “Their increasingly epic ambitions are especially obvious on ballads such as ‘Magnificent’ and ‘Make It Better’, as gentle beginnings give way to triumphant and hugely impressive crescendos.” – Hot Press * “…they’ve built a live show you just can’t miss. The Limerick lads commanded their crowd like few other bands can…” – Fortitude Magazine “ The boys know how to work a crowd, and when that doesn’t work – their music more than does the talking for them.” – Fortitude Magazine * “Hermitage Green are one of most widely respected and hardest working Irish bands around.” – “With two percussionists, bass, acoustic and electric guitar, they certainly know how to entertain a crowd and command the stage with huge confidence.” – Dublin Concerts * “A must see band for those who are unaware of who they are. Superb night of music.” – Dublin Concerts

CKY & Raging Speedhorn - Dublin - 16th December

US rockers CKY come to Voodoo Lounge Dublin on Saturday 16th December 2017. Special guests Raging Speedhorn. Tickets €25 inc bkg fee on sale Fri. 1st September '17 at 10am via & outlets nationwide, and Sound Cellar. Once upon a time, CKY burned it all down, with a raucous, anarchic, hard rock sound soaked in the skate-punk culture that birthed them and a hard-partying lifestyle onstage and off that decimated relationships and reputations in its wake. Now, CKY rises from the ashes of the aftermath with The Phoenix, a bold mission statement that hoists the flag high for big, raw, authentic, earth shaking rock n’ roll, liberated from useless pretense. CKY’s sonic rebirth sounds as incendiary, expansive, and groovy as the Joshua Tree desert where it was made, and as decadent and funky as the strip-club adjacent rehearsal room where the songs were jammed out into submission. Each song is a forceful meditation on what makes CKY so killer. Chad I Ginsburg, the band’s guitarist and singer, steps into the frontman role with charisma, charm, and bravado, confidently delivering a diverse performance as he claims a position that was clearly rightfully his to own. He’s joined in enduring partnership and musical and personal chemistry by fellow CKY cofounder, Jess Margera, the drummer whose extracurricular work in projects like The Company Band (with guys from Clutch and Fireball Ministry) expanded CKY’s horizons as much as Ginsburg’s solo work has as well. The duo returned to their primary project refreshed and reenergized, with bassist Matt Deis (ex-All That Remains), who first joined CKY in 2005. Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, and Deftones have all personally invited CKY on tour, cementing a legacy as a hard-charging live act. CKY built a worldwide fanbase of dedicated acolytes, friends, and supporters, lovingly dubbed the CKY Alliance, with a broader group of musicians, athletes, and other creative types in the CKY family, both literally and...
